The Great Wide Sea by M.H. Herlong
I read the Great Wide Sea. This book is about a boy, his two brothers, and his dad. In the beginning of the book, you learn how the boy’s mom dies. His dad is very upset, and doesn’t know what to do. One day while the boy and his brothers are at school their dad sells their house and buys a boat. He tells the boys that they are going on a trip on a boat for a year. While they on on the trip that dad leaves in the middle of the night. when the boys wake up and find their dad gone and the life emergency kit missing they start to worry. I won’t tell any more because i don’t want to ruin the end. I would recommend it to anyone who just wants to cry or read a sad story. I give this book a five.

Patrick Doughtie and John Perry
I read the book Letters to God. It is about a boy who is battling cancer. He writes “Letters to God” daily. If you are reading this I think you should read Letters to God. It is a very inspiring book, it shows how if you trust in God and have faith you can do anything in life. I had a tumor removed from my spine two years ago, so I can relate to this book very well. Personally I would give this book 5 stars. So if you would like a book that is an easy read, inspiring, and may bring you a few tears you have found the right book!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney
The book that I just recently got done reading is Diary of a wimpy kid. This book is great for ages 9-12. I recommend this book if you like diary books.
This book is about a 7th grader named Greg. He wants to be cool his first year of middle school, but his best friend Rowley is holding him back. Rowley doesn’t care if he is cool or not, he is okay right where he is at. Later on in this book Rowley and Greg get in a fight. During this fight Greg realizes that it’s not about being cool; he just wants a true friend always by his side. By becoming cool Greg would lose a good friend and become friends with people that he used to hate and bully him. I thought it was a good book. It was very funny.

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
I read a book about survival and I would give it a 5 because it has survival tips and nature. These are the kind of books I like to read they have detail, information, and very creative but mostly detail. Anyway, we read this book in class but the first time i liked it and i knew i wanted to read it again so i did. The name of the book was Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, and let me say that this book is probably true and can happen to anybody. Hatchet is about a boy named Brian Robeson on a trip to visit one of his divorced parents. Brian’s mother had taken him to the airport and on the plane he goes. A couple of minutes later, the plane crashes into a lake of the canadian woods. The pilot did not make it and died, so Brian is left alone. Brian is left alone and needs to find a way to survive. So read this book and get the chance to finish it all. Thank you and have a great summer.
